KULGAM: An intensive drive was conducted today at Qaimoh area of District Kulgam by the Drug Control Authorities, Kulgam in coordination with Police Department.
During the inspection, three medical shops were found violating the conditions of licences and discrepancies were observed in the maintenance of records of Schedule drugs, especially Schedule H, H1 drugs.
The shops have been closed down on spot under Section 22(d) of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and operation of their licences has been disallowed till compliances.
The inspection is part of continuous efforts of the department to bring transparency in the sale of schedule drugs and to curb the misuse of prescription drugs.
All chemists of the area have been strictly advised to adhere to responsible sale and purchase of schedule drugs, maintain sale/purchase bills, prescription CBS registers as mandated under Rules, and issue bills/cash memo for every sale.
Further, the department has warned that those found violating the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Rules shall be strictly dealt with under law.
