As AI nears the data wall, stored data outlives every purpose it was gathered for. Inventor Vatsal Soin’s patents, filed 23 September and 1 October 2026, describe a governed journey: sorting records by label, gating release through hardware, erasing or sharing under sealed proof, feeding AI training signals toward model weights, and watching agents, with people deciding hard cases.
THE DILEMMA BEHIND EVERY VAULT
Somewhere in every large institution sits a vault nobody opens: decades of files across data lakes, data warehouses, data centers, and data clouds. Keeping it costs money and widens the target for a breach. Deleting it can break a law or destroy value. Most keep everything and decide nothing.
Inventor Vatsal Soin’s answer is a method that decides by rule and proves each decision. It belongs to the 0→1 Doctrine, which turns any requirement into a range between zero and one, then tests it against a range someone is authorized to allow, before any action proceeds.
PAPER, BITS, AND THE NEXT MEDIUM
Archives began as paper, moved to bits, and may one day sit in stranger media. The question never changes: who decided what to keep, and where is the proof? The filing governs today’s digital records; qubits lie outside it.
SORT: BY LABEL, NEVER CONTENT
Band-Based Archive Triage, or BBAT, is the front door. It sees only each record’s label: dates, category, consent reference, legal hold, jurisdiction, and storage cost. Those labels become numbers, meet the organization’s rules, and send each record one way: retain, purge, or promote. Where rules conflict, the most protective governs.
GATE: HOW A WRONG DELETION IS STOPPED
Nothing is erased on one signal. A purge runs only when the rule says purge and a separate threshold gate clears it. Low confidence sends the record to a person; a legal hold always does, whatever the reading. That reviewer sees no content, and the decision and reviewer’s identity are recorded.
The Metadata Inconsistency Check, or MICA, halts a record whose label contradicts it, such as impossible dates. The Permission and Authorization Change Evaluation, or PACE, stops a step when consent changes. The Freshness Re-evaluation Module, or FRESH, retires an expired verdict. A record under legal hold cannot be promoted until an authority lifts it.
GATE: HOW THE HARDWARE GATE WORKS
Promoted records are processed inside a sealed hardware compartment, the Trusted Execution Environment, or TEE, within the organization’s own perimeter. There the Dark Data Monetization Without Exposure component, or DDME, condenses them into one band, a floor and a ceiling. Then the Delete-Before-Share step, or DBS, destroys the source.
The hardware gate stays shut by default. It opens only when the compartment’s attestation and a sealed Actuation Compliance Receipt, or ACR, both verify; not even a human override can open it alone. In one deployment form, only bands and receipts ever cross the perimeter, never records.
SHARE: THE BAND IS THE PRODUCT
An organization may license or sell a band for an approved commercial or research use while the records stay home. The filing itself sets no price and performs no sale; who may monetize what remains a matter of law and contract.
TRAIN: FROM BAND TO TRAINING SIGNAL
The Band-Derived Training Signals component, or BDTS, pools identity-free bands from many organizations, tests whether any record could be rebuilt, and hands the package to a training interface. A maker of chat assistants or frontier models could then receive permissioned, provenance-stamped input instead of scraped text.
As the data wall looms, permissioned signals could shape model weights; the filing governs what reaches training.
The same labels — consent, purpose, jurisdiction, hold — exist in a hospital’s outcomes archive, a laboratory’s instrument logs, a ministry’s public records, or a communications firm’s client files. A receipt is evidence of how records were handled. It does not prove a finding is true.
THE WATCHERS
The Cross-Agent Aggregation Detector, or CAAD, treats AI agents as a crowd and flags patterns no single agent shows. Signal-based Insight Generated from Historical Trajectory, or SIGHT, follows one agent’s history, and Systemic Pattern Analysis from Receipts, or SPAR, reads across receipts. Each can only raise a flag for a person.
THREE READINGS, THREE RESULTS
01 — Held. A manufacturer’s eight-year-old crash-test archive reads 0.66 to 0.72 against a retention limit of 0.00 to 0.60. Every point exceeds the limit, so purge is due. Then a product-liability claim sets a legal hold, deletion stops, and a named person decides.
02 — Sorted. A verification test of the demonstration sorted 34 real annual reports under two retention rules, six years and seven. The stricter seven governed: 6 stayed, 1 went to a person, 27 unused files qualified for deletion; a separate recount matched all 34. It tests the logic, not the filed system.
03 — Refused. A genomics archive yields a band of 0.38 to 0.52 from a large cohort and proceeds. A side archive of fifty participants is refused: too few people to hide anyone.
CLEARLY EXPLAINED
How is a wrong deletion prevented?
Safeguards sit before the deletion: a threshold gate, human review for low confidence or a legal hold, and a sealed receipt for every decision. The audit function reports what was recorded.
How is deletion verified?
Attestation vouches for the compartment, and deletion is verified separately. Both must pass before anything leaves.
How is a band kept anonymous?
Small groups are refused, narrow bands are widened, outside-data linkage is tested, and a privacy validator checks before release.
How does it look ahead to quantum computing?
It governs digital records today, and an optional signature method is designed to resist future quantum computers, with strength set by each deployment.
How is the exit protected?
The gate opens only when hardware attestation and a sealed authorization receipt both verify. No software process, operator, or human override can open it alone, and each deployment is independently tested.
Who can host it, and does it handle new data?
Any hardware offering an isolated, hardware-enforced compartment; the filing names no vendor, so chipmakers and cloud operators are natural hosts. The vault is defined by use, not age, so new records qualify. It needs no storage migration. No partnership or endorsement is implied.
CLOSING NOTE
Every civilization is judged by what it stored and what it let go. Now machines will read both. Let them read a past that carries its own proof.
