MUMBAI/LOS ANGELES: Global activewear brand Fabletics is set to enter the Indian market through a long-term partnership with Reliance Brands Limited (RBL), with the brand launching simultaneously online and through its first mono-brand store at DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
A second store in Mumbai is expected to follow shortly after the Delhi debut.
Under the exclusive partnership, RBL will lead the development of Fabletics across India through an omnichannel model comprising standalone stores, e-commerce and experiential retail environments.
The companies said the partnership will combine Fabletics’ global product and creative strategy with RBL’s experience in building international fashion and lifestyle brands for Indian consumers.
Founded in Los Angeles in 2013, Fabletics has built its presence around fashion-led performance wear featuring proprietary fabrics, bold colours and contemporary silhouettes. The brand has grown from a digital-first business into a global omnichannel company with more than 125 retail locations.
Fabletics has also collaborated with personalities including Khloé Kardashian and Kevin Hart, positioning itself at the intersection of fashion, fitness and popular culture.
The company said its India assortment will include women’s and men’s activewear across training, running, yoga, Pilates and everyday movement.
The range will combine performance fabrics with fashion-led designs intended to transition from workouts to everyday wear.
Commenting on the launch, Sumeet Yadav, Head, Reliance Brands Limited, said India was witnessing a shift in consumer behaviour, with younger customers increasingly embracing movement, mindfulness and athleisure as part of everyday life.
He said Fabletics stood out for its approach to combining fashion-forward design with accessible performance apparel and described the brand as a strong fit for the evolving Indian market.
Meera Bhatia, President, Fabletics, said India represented an important next step in the brand’s international expansion.
She said the company’s proposition of combining performance, style and value aligned well with the changing preferences of active Indian consumers and described Reliance Brands as the right partner for Fabletics’ long-term ambitions in the country.
The New Delhi store at DLF Promenade will mark Fabletics’ first physical presence in India, alongside the launch of a dedicated India website.
The subsequent Mumbai store is expected to form the foundation for the brand’s broader expansion across the country.
Reliance Brands Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, was established in 2007 and operates a portfolio of global fashion, luxury and lifestyle brands in India.
RBL currently operates more than 1,855 retail doors across India, including standalone stores and shop-in-shops, and has also made global acquisitions including toy retailer Hamleys.
