KATRA: On the occasion of World Heart Day, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital organised a free comprehensive cardiac screening and consultation camp, providing preventive heart-care services to more than 450 people.
The camp was inaugurated by Sachin Kumar Vaishya, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Alok Kumar Maurya, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, and Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Facility Director, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, were also present on the occasion.
The camp brought Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery services together on a single platform, with consultations provided by Dr. Sushant Kumar, Senior Consultant, Cardiology; Dr. Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Consultant, Cardiology; Dr. Vinod Bhan, Senior Consultant, CTVS; and Dr. Romil Dutt Sharma, Consultant, CTVS.
Participants were offered free ECG, echocardiography, blood investigations and specialist consultations, enabling comprehensive assessment of their cardiovascular health. The initiative focused on the early identification of cardiovascular risk factors and timely evaluation, with the aim of preventing progression of heart disease and promoting healthier lifestyles.
Speaking on the occasion, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, said, “Preventive healthcare and early screening play an important role in reducing the burden of heart disease. In line with the vision of the Lieutenant Governor, J&K UT and Chairman, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Manoj Sinha, for strengthening accessible, quality and preventive healthcare services, the Shrine Board remains committed to undertaking initiatives that promote early detection, timely intervention and better health outcomes for the people of the region”.
