SRINAGAR: A stone sculpture of a Hindu deity, believed to be several centuries old, has been discovered in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said. The artefact, thought to depict either Lord Vishnu or Lord Surya, was found on the outskirts of Gulmarg during a routine patrol by personnel from Gulmarg Police Station. Police officials said the sculpture, finely carved in stone, is indicative of the region’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
