JAMMU: Shree Toyota, Jammu, launched the all-new Toyota Hilux in the presence of Vishesh Paul Mahajan, JKAS, Transport Commissioner, J&K, along with Davinder Batra, Director, Shree Toyota, Manik Batra, Director, Shree Toyota, and Bhisham Batra, Director, Shree Toyota, marking a significant addition to the dealership’s SUV portfolio. The ninth-generation Hilux, built around Toyota’s established attributes of reliability, durability and quality, combines heavy-duty capability with comfort and everyday usability.
Based on Toyota’s IMV platform, the all-new Hilux has been developed for diverse driving requirements, offering durability for demanding tasks while retaining the comfort and practicality required for urban mobility. Designed around the “Tough & Agile” concept, the pickup features a redesigned front profile inspired by the “Cyber Sumo” concept, reflecting a design philosophy centred on strength, stability and agility.
The exterior gets a newly designed front bumper with piano-black accents, LED headlamps with welcome function, LED fog lamps and distinctive daytime running lights. Alloy wheels, aerodynamic stabilising fins, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, LED rear combination lamps and a shark-fin antenna further add to its contemporary appearance and functionality.
Under the hood, the Hilux is powered by a 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine producing 150 kW and 500 Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. An 80-litre fuel tank is designed to support long-distance driving, while Toyota’s four-wheel-drive system with H4 and L4 ranges, Electronic Differential Lock and Downhill Assist Control enhances its capability across challenging terrain.
The vehicle features a double-wishbone front suspension and leaf-spring rear suspension, along with optimised braking and Toyota’s chassis engineering aimed at providing stability and control. Its off-road credentials are further supported by its approach and departure angles, making it suitable for varied driving conditions and light adventure applications.
Inside, the all-new Hilux combines functionality with a premium cabin environment. Features include soft-touch upholstery with metallic accents, tilt and telescopic steering, 60:40 split rear seats, power windows with jam protection, Smart Entry and Push Start/Stop, park assist, wireless charging, cruise control, rear armrest, PM2.5 air filtration and Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes.
Technology and connectivity are supported by a 12.3-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Toyota i-Connect features, a metal-tone optitron combimeter, multi-information TFT display, steering-mounted audio controls and voice recognition. An eight-speaker audio system further enhances the in-cabin experience.
Safety equipment includes seven SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with Brake Assist, Emergency Brake Signal, ISOFIX child restraint anchorages, front seatbelts with force limiters and Toyota’s Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA) body structure. A panoramic view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, TPMS and speed-sensing door locks add further safety and driver-assistance features.
The Hilux is offered in six exterior colours — Super White, Platinum Pearl White, Attitude Black+, Emotional Red, Sulphur Metallic and Ash. Customers can also personalise the vehicle with genuine accessories including headlamp garnish, door garnish kits, side visors and side protective mouldings.
The all-new Hilux has been introduced in three automatic variants, with the 4X2 GX AT priced at ₹31.99 lakh, 4X4 GX AT at ₹33.69 lakh and 4X4 VX AT at ₹36.69 lakh, ex-showroom. Shree Toyota also highlighted its assured service ecosystem aimed at providing customers with continued support throughout the ownership experience.
