JAMMU: MLA Nagrota Devyani Rana on Thursday said that Sant Kabir’s timeless philosophy continues to serve as a moral compass for society, stressing that his verses remain powerful tools to counter hatred, animosity and social discord.
Speaking at a programme organised at Kabir Ashram, Narian in Katal Batal Panchayat, Rana described Sant Kabir as an epitome of righteousness whose message of peace, love and compassion offers a universal path to harmony.
“Those who imbibe Kabir Sahib’s teachings can never commit injustice. His message inspires an equal, just and humane society,” she said.
Sant Sudershan Ji Maharaj also graced the occasion.
Rana said the best tribute to the Bhakti saint is to follow the values he stood for—unity, dignity and equality beyond caste, creed or colour. “Kabirji showed us a path where humanity rises above differences. His teachings must continue to illuminate our collective journey, especially when harmony needs reinforcement,” she added.
She noted that saints and sages have, through ages, guided society from ignorance to enlightenment, advocating peace, compassion and social justice. She emphasised the need to adopt Kabir’s philosophy in true spirit, calling for collective efforts to safeguard the secular ethos of the region.
The MLA appreciated the organisers for hosting the event and lauded Sant Sudershan Ji Maharaj for his selfless contribution to promoting social harmony. “Kabirji’s philosophy helps society shed hatred and intolerance and will continue to inspire future generations. Preserving this brotherhood is the true tribute to the saint,” she said.
In his discourse, Sant Sudershan Ji Maharaj threw light on the life and contributions of Sant Kabir in fostering unity and urged people to walk on the path shown by great gurus. He stressed the need to impart strong moral values to the younger generation to counter rising social challenges.
