JAMMU: In a significant breakthrough under Operation Sanjeevani, Police Station Gandhi Nagar, under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu, has dismantled a major inter-district, inter-state and cross-border narco-terror syndicate operating in the region.
The operation led to multiple arrests, substantial narcotic recovery, and the seizure of weapons and a modified vehicle used for drug transportation.
Initial Interception
On 14.11.2025 at around 0520 hours, a patrolling team of PS Gandhi Nagar intercepted two suspicious individuals near Shastri Nagar Shamshan Ghat. Both suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended after a brief chase. A heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession, following which FIR No. 249/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act & 111 BNS was registered. Investigation was handed over to SHO Gandhi Nagar, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed under SP City South and SDPO City South.

Already lodged in District Jail Rajouri in a 10-kg narcotics case, he was found coordinating the network via WhatsApp and linking in-state traffickers with cross-border suppliers. He was formally arrested in the case.

An absconder in a murder case (FIR No. 93/2024, PS Ramgarh), he was arrested based on disclosures and technical inputs. Heroin-like substance, a pistol and live ammunition were recovered.

Network Modus Operandi & Cross-Border Links
Interrogation and technical evidence indicate that the arrested individuals were part of a well-organised narco-terror module consisting of financial handlers, jail-based facilitators and cross-border suppliers. Preliminary investigation points towards links with Pakistan-based drug operatives.

Efforts are ongoing to trace absconding accused, identify remaining associates, follow financial trails, and establish cross-border supply links. Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to combating narcotics trafficking and protecting the youth from the drug menace.
