JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accorded administrative approval for the permanent restoration of the damaged approach of the 4th Tawi Bridge near Bhagwati Nagar, which was affected by the August 2025 floods. The project has been approved at an estimated cost of ₹1,975.16 lakh (₹19.75 crore). The approval has been granted vide Government Order No. 16-PW(R&B) of 2026, dated January 16, 2026, issued by the Public Works (R&B) Department. SRINAGAR: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two public servants while allegedly accepting a bribe from a complainant in Anantnag district, officials said. According to officials, CBI teams caught a Patwari and a Chowkidar, both residents of Halqa Soaf Shali, Kokernag, while accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 from the complainant.
