JAMMU: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has extended winter vacations for all Government and Private Schools falling in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division till 17 January 2026, in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions. According to Order No. 17-DSEJ of 2026, the vacation applies to both teaching staff and students. However, Board Examinations for Classes 10th to 12th will continue as per the notified schedule, wherever applicable. SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday declared the results of the Class 10th Annual Regular Examination 2025, recording an overall pass percentage of 85.03%. According to the official figures, a total of 94,845 students had appeared in the examination, including 47,736 boys and 47,109 girls. Of them, 80,650 students — comprising 40,242 boys and 40,408 girls — qualified the examination, taking the overall pass percentage to 85.03%. JAMMU: Indian Army troops opened fire at a suspected Pakistani drone after it was detected during routine surveillance along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district on Tuesday evening. Official sources said the drone was seen hovering over forward areas, prompting alert troops to engage it as a precautionary measure. The flying object reportedly returned across the LoC after the firing. Security forces have intensified surveillance and vigilance along the LoC in view of repeated attempts of drone intrusions from across the border, officials added.
