NEW DELHI: Kunwarani Dr Ritu Singh of Jammu and Kashmir participated as a panelist at The Inclusive Human Centric Summit & Awards 8.0 (WE – Willful Evolution), held on October 6 and 7 at the Radisson Hotel, MG Road, New Delhi, where she advocated greater inclusivity and equal opportunities for specially abled persons across all sectors of society.
Organised by Ask Insights in association with The Times of India, the two-day national summit brought together royal leaders, cultural custodians, industry representatives and social sector stakeholders to deliberate on diversity, human-centric leadership and societal transformation.
Dr Ritu Singh participated in a panel discussion titled “Queens of India,” moderated by Padma Shri awardee Dr Niru Kumar, founder of Ask Insights and a pioneer in diversity and inclusion. The panel also featured Rajkumari Gitanjali Shah of Tehri Garhwal, Maharani Raseshwari Rajya Laxmi of Jaisalmer, Maharani Shailaja Katoch of Kangra-Lambagraon, Anshu Khanna, founder of Royal Fables, and Mayank Jain, co-owner and director of Greenways Sarees.
During the discussion, Dr Ritu Singh highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir and stressed the importance of ensuring that specially abled persons are meaningfully included in every sphere of life. She called for equal opportunities, dignity and active participation for them in education, corporate workplaces, the arts and community leadership.
The session explored how traditional heritage and cultural values can serve as constructive forces for women’s empowerment, inclusive development and meaningful social change.
The summit was attended by representatives from leading industries, corporate organisations, non-governmental organisations and other fields. Former President of India Ram Nath Kovind delivered the chief guest address, while Ira Singhal, IAS, Deputy Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of India, attended as guest of honour.
Reflecting on the discussions, Dr Ritu Singh emphasised that heritage is a living legacy that carries a responsibility to uplift every section of society, empower specially abled persons, foster empathy and promote meaningful, human-centric progress.
