BHADERWAH: In preparation for the Holy Kailash Yatra 2026, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Krishan Lal has directed the concerned departments to undertake necessary arrangements for the smooth, safe and successful conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
In this regard, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutyal chaired a review meeting here today. The ADC directed the concerned departments to update all necessary arrangements for the holy Yatra within one day.
As per the official calendar issued by the Office of the District Development Commissioner, the Kailash Yatra is scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 10, 2026, while the Chhari Yatra would proceed from September 8 to 10.
The Bhaderwah Kailash Sewa Sangh Trust submitted a detailed list of requirements for the pilgrimage. The Trust stated that an advance party would proceed to Kailash Kund on August 18 for preparatory works.
The administration has laid emphasis on the repair and restoration of the footpaths along the routes from Chattergalla and Chhatri towards Kailash Kund and onward to Shankh Padder. The concerned departments have also been asked to ensure adequate arrangements for drinking water, sanitation, power, firewood and emergency services.
A permanent security post is being established at Kailash Kund. Around ten toilets with water supply and septic-tank facilities have also been provisioned at Kailash Kund.
