NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced its new national team under party president Nitin Nabin, bringing together a mix of experienced leaders and younger faces while giving substantial representation to women.
The organisational reshuffle comes nearly six months after Nabin took over as BJP president.
B.L. Santosh will continue as National General Secretary (Organisation), while former Amethi MP Smriti Irani, former Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb, Sunil Bansal, Vinod Tawde, Gajendra Patel, Satish Poonia, Harish Dwivedi and Sanjay Bhatia have been appointed national general secretaries.
The party has also named 13 National Vice Presidents, including former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje, former Uttarakhand chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat, Ram Madhav, Baijayant Jay Panda, D. Purandeshwari, Rekha Verma, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi, Bharti Pravin Pawar, Manpreet Singh Badal, Lal Singh Arya, Prof. M. Nagaraja, Prof. Tariq Mansoor and Madhuchandra Kar.
Of the 13 vice presidents, six are women.
The BJP also announced a new team of National Secretaries comprising Kavita Patidar from Madhya Pradesh, K. Surendran and Anil Antony from Kerala, Dr Bhola Singh and Sangeeta Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, Pradip Varma from Jharkhand, Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel and Rohan Gupta from Gujarat, Sandeep Pathak, Swadesh Singh and Jai Prakash from Delhi, Phangnon Konyak from Nagaland, M. Venkateshan from Tamil Nadu, Manoj Tigga from West Bengal, Siddharth Shambhu from Bihar and Mriganka Deo Barman from Assam.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal has once again been entrusted with the responsibility of National Treasurer.
Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh has been appointed Central Office In-charge.
Gujarat MP Hemang Joshi has been given charge of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, while Roop Kumari Choudhary from Chhattisgarh will head the Mahila Morcha.
Lok Sabha MP Anil Baluni will continue as the party’s Media Convenor. Ashish Usha Agrawal from Madhya Pradesh, Pradeep Bhandari and Siddharth Yadav from Delhi have been named co-convenors.
Deepak Mhaskey of Chhattisgarh has been appointed Social Media Convenor.
The new organisational structure is expected to play a key role in preparing the party for the 2027 Assembly elections in several states, including Uttar Pradesh.
The changes in the party organisation have also triggered speculation about a possible reshuffle in the Union Council of Ministers as the BJP recalibrates responsibilities ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
