JAMMU: Jodhamal Public School organised its Junior School Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2026–27, formally inducting a new team of student leaders and reinforcing the values of leadership, discipline, integrity and responsibility among young learners.
The ceremony was attended by Sunil Kumar Sharma, MLA and Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, and M Y Kichloo, IPS, SSP Administrative Wing, J&K Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, as Guests of the Day.
The guests and special invitees were welcomed with green saplings, symbolising growth, sustainability and youthful energy. The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a performance by the Junior Choir Group.
Addressing the students, M Y Kichloo encouraged the young leaders to embrace their responsibilities with determination and character, saying that early leadership experiences help build confidence and resilience.
Director Dr Deep Khare, in his welcome address, highlighted the importance of leadership, discipline, integrity and service in shaping responsible citizens.
During the badging ceremony, Rivaan Gupta was appointed Junior Head Boy, while Kaashvi Gupta was named Junior Head Girl. Samanyu Gupta and Myra Kher were appointed Junior Deputy Head Boy and Junior Deputy Head Girl, respectively.
The newly constituted Junior Student Council also included Saanvi Sharma and Mohd Asad as Discipline Incharges; Mysa Dogra, Mohd Izaan and Cyraj Gupta as Eco Leaders; Ziva Gupta and Ayaansh Gupta as Sports Captains; Gauranghi, Aaleen Nayak and Saransh Sharma as CCA Incharges; and Bahirah Chabhra, Sharanya Gupta and Sayyam Sharma as Academic Prefects.
House Captains included Nidha Singh and Abeer Singh for Challenge House, Vaarahi Bajaj and Sarthak Jamwal for Invention House, Aradhya Basur and Prayan Arora for Discovery House, and Amaira Mahajan and Fateh Singh for Enterprise House.
A team of Vice Prefects was also appointed across discipline, eco, sports, CCA, academics and house leadership roles.
Following the badging ceremony, the newly inducted leaders took the oath of office and pledged to uphold the values and traditions of the school with dedication and teamwork.
Principal Amita Arora congratulated the council members and said true leadership begins with small acts of responsibility, respect and kindness. She urged the students to lead by example and strive for excellence.
The programme also featured a formal Flag Giving Ceremony, during which council and house flags were handed over to the student leaders.
Trustees Nandan Kuthiala and Arati Kuthiala congratulated the newly appointed council and appreciated the confidence and enthusiasm shown by the students.
In their maiden joint address, the Junior Head Boy and Junior Head Girl expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and pledged to lead with humility, enthusiasm and integrity.
Senior Head Girl Praanya Puri presented the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem under the guidance of Deepali Puri, CCA Coordinator, Junior Wing.
