JAMMU: Jodhamal Public School celebrated its 20th Annual Sports Day 2025 at the school campus with vibrant displays of sportsmanship, teamwork, and festive spirit.
The event began with the release of balloons and formal declaration of the Sports Meet open, followed by a presentation of annual achievements and milestones.
A well-coordinated march past by NCC cadets of the Naval and Army wings drew loud applause from parents and spectators. The ceremonial torch relay by national and international student athletes marked the official commencement of the meet.
The sports arena came alive with energetic field displays and track events including the 100m, 200m, 400m races, along with 4x100m and 4x200m relays. Students cheered enthusiastically throughout the competitions.
The Chief Guest praised the athletes and commended the school for promoting sports and helping students move beyond excessive social media dependence. He highlighted the importance of physical activity in holistic development.
Discovery House lifted the Best House in Sports Trophy, while Amender Singh Chopra and Anandini Sharma received the All-Round Athlete of the Year Award. Achievements of students representing India internationally and J&K nationally were also recognised.
Over 80 students are set to participate in School Nationals across Swimming, Skating, Matsogi-Do, Cricket, Table Tennis, Wushu and Football.
Trustee Nandan Kuthiala and Director Arati Kuthiala applauded the efforts of the sports department and staff. A friendly tug-of-war between parents and teachers turned out to be the show-stopper, adding cheer to the celebration.
Winners across events were awarded medals by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. The programme concluded with the declaration of the Meet closed, followed by the National Anthem.
