PULWAMA: Under the aegis of NALSA and the Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama successfully organized the 3rd National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex (DLSA) Pulwama as well as in the Taluka Courts across the district.
Shabir Ahmad Malik, Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman District Legal Services Authority), Pulwama, inaugurated the 3rd National Lok Adalat along with the Judicial Officers posted at district headquarter.
For smooth disposal, cases were pre-identified by the respective courts and placed before six dedicated benches constituted by DLSA Pulwama for settlement.
First Bench was headed over by Shabir Ahmad Malik, Principal District and Sessions Judge (Presiding Officer), and Mahraj Ud Din, Chief LADC as Member. Second Bench was headed by Muzamil Ahmad Wani, Chief Judicial Magistrate (Presiding Officer) amd Fakhur un Nissa Principal Magistrate JJB Pulwama as Member. Third Bench was headed by Fariqa Nazir, Special District Mobile Magistrate (Presiding Officer) and Danishta shafi, Munsiff/JMIC as Member, whike fourth Bench was headed by Uzma Amin, Sub-Judge) (Presiding Officer) and Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Khan as Member. Fifth Bench was headed by Muneer Ahmad Bhat, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate (Presiding Officer) and Advocate Marroofa jan as Member.
The cases taken up for settlement included a wide range of matters such as civil disputes, compoundable criminal cases, cheque bounce cases, bank recovery matters, MACT claims, land compensation cases, matrimonial disputes, pre-litigation cases, social welfare disputes, labour cases, revenue disputes, BSNL-related issues, municipal cases, and other matters related to government schemes.
653 cases were taken up before the benches, out of which 191 cases were amicably settled. A total settlement amount of Rs 4959155 was awarded/realized as compensation and recovery during the Lok Adalat.
