JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to review the prevailing security situation in the Jammu region and assess measures being taken against narco-terror networks and their support modules, officials said.
Inspector General of Police, Jammu Range, Tejinder Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Shridhar Patil, along with other senior police and intelligence officers, attended the meeting.
According to Jammu Zone Police, the DGP reviewed the overall security scenario and the ongoing action against narco-terror modules with senior officers of Jammu Police. The discussions focused on emerging security challenges, particularly attempts by terror-linked networks to exploit narcotics for generating funds and facilitating anti-national activities.
The DGP took stock of measures being undertaken to identify, investigate and dismantle networks involved in narco-terror activities and their support structures operating across the Jammu region, officials said.
The meeting also reviewed the prevailing crime situation, with emphasis on strengthening inter-agency coordination, proactive policing and ensuring an effective and timely response to emerging security, crime and law-and-order challenges.
