KASTIGARH: As part of the series of activities being organized in the run-up to the Independence Day celebrations, the Government DySP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College Kastigarh today organized Essay Writing and debate Competitions for students.
The Essay Writing Competition was held on the theme “Role of Education in Promoting Peace and National Unity”, while the debate focused on “Role of J&K Youth in Making Viksit Bharat@2047.”
The competitions aimed to promote patriotism, creativity, critical thinking and awareness among students about India’s journey since Independence and its vision for the future.
Students participated enthusiastically and shared their views on various aspects of nation-building, including education, youth empowerment, innovation, scientific advancement, environmental sustainability and women empowerment.
Neeraj Singh, a 5th-semester student, secured the first position in the debate competition, while Virta Devi secured the first position in the Essay Writing Competition.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Principal, Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra. Faculty members, including Dr. Sumit Kotwal, Dr. Arjun Singh, Prof. Sat Pal and Dr. Anupam Lata, along with other teaching and non-teaching staff and students, attended the programme.
