JAMMU: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) have joined hands to facilitate pensioners in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in the submission and updation of their Digital Life Certificates (Jeevan Pramaan Patra).
The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Sumeet Singh, Regional PF Commissioner-I, EPFO Regional Office Jammu, and Rajeev Kumar, Chief Manager and Circle Head, IPPB, J&K and Ladakh Circle. The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between the two organisations and making the service more accessible, particularly for pensioners living in far-flung and remote areas.
Under the facilitation mechanism, pensioners will be able to update their Digital Life Certificates through their nearest India Post Payments Bank branch. The service will also be available through Grameen Dak Sevaks (GDS), enabling pensioners in rural and remote areas to access the facility closer to their homes.
EPFO pensioners can also update their life certificates online through the Jeevan Pramaan App on their mobile phones. In addition, the service is available during “Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0” camps, organised by EPFO on the 27th of every month at designated locations.
To provide further assistance, the EPFO Regional Office, Jammu, has established a dedicated window for pensioners facing difficulties in updating their Digital Life Certificates.
Pensioners requiring assistance can contact the Regional Office through [email protected]. EPFO Jammu said that, wherever required, it will facilitate pensioners by deputing a team to assist them in updating their Digital Life Certificates.
The meeting was also attended by Abilash, Manager, India Post Payments Bank, and Pritpal Singh, Assistant Section Officer, EPFO, along with other officials.
The coordinated initiative is aimed at bringing pension-related services closer to beneficiaries and ensuring seamless, accessible and hassle-free updation of Digital Life Certificates across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
