POONCH: District Development Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today conducted a detailed inspection of the Poonch-BG road stretch to ensure its proper maintenance ahead of the forthcoming Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The DDC undertook a comprehensive assessment of the entire road stretch. He reviewed the condition of the carriageway, drainage system and the vulnerable points requiring immediate attention.
SSP Shafqat Hussain Bhat, Col. Akhilesh Kumar, Commander 31 Task Force, OC GREF Ashish Ranjan and other concerned officers accompanied the DDC.
The DDC directed the BRO authorities to improve and maintain the drainage system and address all locations where repair, maintenance or rectification is required. He issued strict directions for completing all necessary road repair and improvement works on priority well before the commencement of the Yatra.
The DDC also stressed upon all concerned agencies to work in close coordination and ensure that the road infrastructure is fully prepared to facilitate smooth, safe and uninterrupted movement of pilgrims throughout the Yatra.
