JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved an 18 per cent increase in passenger transport fares across the Union Territory following detailed deliberations by the Fare Revision Committee (FRC), which met under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Finance Santosh D. JAMMU: An Army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) lost his life while performing duty in Jammu, officials said on Wednesday. According to defence sources, the incident occurred while the JCO was on duty. He sustained injuries and was immediately rushed for medical treatment; however, he later succumbed to his injuries. Officials have ruled out any terror-related angle at this stage. NEW DELHI: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Tuesday successfully completed user evaluation trials of the next-generation Akash missile system (Akash-NG), marking a major milestone towards its induction into the Indian Armed Forces, officials said.
