JAMMU: Jammu Police on Wednesday handed over 60 recovered mobile phones, collectively valued at approximately ₹10 lakh, to their rightful owners at District Police Lines (DPL), Jammu, marking another technology-driven effort to assist citizens in recovering lost property.
The mobile phones were traced and recovered through the dedicated efforts of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) and Electronic Surveillance Unit (ESU) teams working under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Headquarters, Jammu.
The handing-over ceremony marked the second such initiative conducted by the officer, reflecting the sustained efforts of Jammu Police to leverage technology and coordinated investigation mechanisms for the benefit of citizens.
The police advised the public to remain vigilant and adopt necessary security measures, including using strong and unique passwords or PINs for mobile devices and banking applications, enabling available device-security features and promptly reporting the loss of mobile phones to the authorities.
Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to using technology and coordinated policing mechanisms to strengthen citizen assistance, protect property and enhance public service delivery.
