SRINAGAR: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) held the Graduation Day ceremony for the Undergraduate Batch of 2022 of the Faculty of Horticulture and College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology at the Shalimar Convention Center, Faculty of Horticulture.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony began with the donning of ceremonial robes and an academic procession led by UG Coordinator, Dr. Aziz Mujtaba, with the participation of university officers and divisional heads.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai congratulated the graduating students and highlighted the contribution of SKUAST-K students to the university’s innovation ecosystem. He noted that a majority of the university’s recent patents and emerging startups have been spearheaded by graduating students.
Prof. Ganai said the university’s academic standards and course offerings have expanded to respond to evolving global requirements. Emphasising the role of higher education in society, the Vice Chancellor said a university’s contribution should be reflected in producing skilled and empowered graduates capable of becoming self-reliant and developing sustainable solutions. He encouraged the graduates to build resilience, embrace self-reliance and adapt to changing professional and technological environments.
Earlier, Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth, Director Extension and Dean, Faculty of Horticulture, presented welcome address.
On the occasion provisional degree certificates were presented to the graduating students. The programme also included the signing of academic scrolls, oath-taking ceremony, and student valedictory address.
