JAMMU: Shagun Parihar, Member of Legislative Assembly from Kishtwar, met Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia in New Delhi to raise the issue of inadequate telecom connectivity in several remote areas of the district.
During the meeting, the MLA highlighted the persistent lack of reliable communication services in far-flung areas, including Kiyar, Kibber and Ananthnalla in Block Dacchan, as well as Haddar (Kuntwara) in Block Dhrabshalla. She informed the minister that residents of these regions continue to face serious difficulties due to poor or non-existent mobile network coverage.
Parihar stressed that the absence of dependable telecom services has affected access to emergency assistance, education, digital facilities and overall socio-economic development in these remote areas. She urged the Union Minister to take necessary steps to strengthen telecom infrastructure so that residents can remain better connected with the rest of the country.
The MLA requested the minister’s intervention to improve communication networks in the region, noting that enhanced connectivity would significantly support public services, development initiatives and the quality of life of local residents.
Scindia gave a patient hearing to the concerns raised and assured that the matter would be examined so that the communication needs of people in these remote regions can be addressed effectively.
