BILASPUR: Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta on Thursday inspected the ongoing four-laning work on NH-205 from Kalar Bala village to Nauni Chowk ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s proposed visit to AIIMS Bilaspur. The President is scheduled to visit Bilaspur on October 6 and attend the first convocation of AIIMS Bilaspur.
During the inspection, NHAI officials briefed the Governor on the progress of the 17.450-km four-laning project, including completed works, ongoing construction and the proposed completion schedule of September 2027. Officials also apprised him of arrangements being made to ensure smooth connectivity and traffic movement around AIIMS Bilaspur during the President’s visit.
The Governor directed the concerned agencies to accord priority to all works related to connectivity and movement around AIIMS and ensure that necessary arrangements, including clearance of the route, are completed well in advance. He stressed the need for smooth, safe and regulated traffic movement during the visit while ensuring minimum inconvenience to commuters and local residents.
Gupta further directed all concerned departments and agencies to maintain close coordination and complete the requisite arrangements within the stipulated timelines. He emphasised that infrastructure and development works should be undertaken with due attention to public convenience, road safety and the requirements arising from important national and State-level visits.
