BANDIPORA: A one-day workshop on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) was held today organised at High School Bagh, Bandipora, with the aim of sensitising educational institutions about the implementation, registration process and effective execution of the scheme.
The workshop was organised in pursuance of the directions of the District Administration and witnessed participation of officers and representatives from the education sector and other concerned departments.
Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Nazir Ahmad Mir, who is also the Nodal Officer for NAPS in the district attended the workshop.
Addressing the participants, the ADDC highlighted the importance of NAPS in providing practical exposure, skill development and apprenticeship opportunities to youth, while also stressing upon educational institutions to actively participate in the scheme and facilitate maximum registrations and apprenticeship contracts.
He emphasised the need for coordinated efforts among educational institutions, government departments and other stakeholders for effective implementation of NAPS in the district. He also urged the participating institutions to make full use of the opportunities available under the scheme for enhancing employability and industry-oriented skills among students and youth.
Chief Education Officer, Bandipora, Principal, Government Polytechnic Bandipora, and other officers and representatives were present during the workshop. The District Nodal Officer (NAPS) of Education Department and concerned Zonal Nodal Officers also participated in the programme.
The workshop also provided a platform for interaction and discussion on various aspects of NAPS implementation, with participants being encouraged to ensure active institutional participation and better coordination for achieving the objectives of the scheme.
