PULWAMA: DLSA Pulwama organised an awareness programme on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) at Government Boys Middle School, Rehmoo, Pulwama, with the objective of sensitising students, faculty members and staff about prevention of sexual harassment and the legal safeguards available to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
The programme was conducted by Waheed Anjum, Advocate/Panel Lawyer, DLSA Pulwama, and Tariq Ahmad Wagay, Para Legal Volunteer, DLSA Pulwama.
During the programme, the resource persons interacted with the students and participants and highlighted the importance of awareness, dignity, safety and respectful behaviour. They also sensitised the participants about the provisions of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013, the mechanisms for addressing complaints and other relevant legal safeguards.
The programme was organised as part of the ongoing legal awareness and outreach initiatives of DLSA Pulwama under the aegis of the J&K Legal Services Authority, aimed at promoting legal literacy, awareness and access to justice among the community.
