JAMMU: Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio) continued to strengthen its leadership in the Jammu & Kashmir service area, including Ladakh, by adding 40,000 new mobile subscribers in September 2025, according to the latest telecom subscription data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
Jio was the only operator to record subscriber growth in the region during the month. In contrast, Bharti Airtel lost 36,000 subscribers, Vodafone Idea lost 4,600, and BSNL lost 3,700.
With this addition, Jio’s subscriber base in J&K crossed 52 lakh wireless users as of 30 September 2025, further cementing its position as the preferred telecom brand in the Union Territory. The total number of wireless subscribers in J&K stands at approximately 1.27 crore.
Industry experts attribute Jio’s strong growth to its largest 4G and True 5G network, covering 91% of the population with extensive fibre-connected sites, providing significantly higher data handling capacity than competitors.
Notably, Reliance Jio also dominated net wireless subscriber additions in July and August 2025, gaining 1.59 lakh and 57,000 users respectively.
