BENGALURU: Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited, has acquired Southern Health Foods Private Limited, a leading health foods manufacturer based in Tamil Nadu.
The company is best known for its flagship brand Manna, which has been a trusted name in the healthy foods segment for over two decades.
With the acquisition of Manna, RCPL further strengthens its foods and staples portfolio, which already includes brands such as Udhaiyam, Independence, and SiL. The move marks a significant step in building a strong business vertical in the fast-growing millet-based foods segment, while reinforcing RCPL’s philosophy of delivering global-quality products at affordable prices to consumers across India.
Commenting on the acquisition, T. Krishnakumar, Director, Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said Manna is among the most trusted health-focused food brands in Tamil Nadu, with a strong presence in neighbouring states. He noted that the brand is well known for its nutritious offerings, including millet-based staples and mixes, beverages, and baby food products.
He added that beyond strengthening RCPL’s packaged foods portfolio, the acquisition would enable the company to offer high-quality nutritious foods to a wider consumer base. Leveraging RCPL’s robust distribution network, research and development capabilities, and efficient supply chain, Manna products will be gradually expanded to new geographies, with the aim of making the brand a household name across the country.
Southern Health Foods Private Limited operates across multiple health-focused food categories, including millets, oats, multi-grain products, health mixes, breakfast cereals, and dry fruits. Its flagship brand Manna enjoys strong recognition in emerging packaged food categories such as millet flour, baby foods, and multigrain drink mixes.
