JAMMU: In view of the upcoming Navratri and the expected भारी influx of pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, the Jammu Division of Indian Railways has put in place comprehensive security and passenger facilitation measures to ensure smooth travel.
Anticipating heavy rush, especially at key stations such as Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, special teams of trained Scouts and Guides have been deployed to manage crowd movement efficiently.
These teams will assist in maintaining orderly queues at platforms and entry and exit points, guide passengers to the correct trains, and extend support to elderly passengers, women, and persons with disabilities. They will also work in coordination with the Railway Protection Force and the Government Railway Police to handle medical emergencies and prevent overcrowding at critical points within stations.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said that the disciplined deployment of Scouts and Guides will play a crucial role in managing crowds and providing timely assistance, particularly during peak travel periods.
The Railway Administration has appealed to pilgrims to remain patient, travel light, and follow instructions issued by railway staff and security personnel to ensure a safe and hassle-free journey.
Officials reiterated that passenger safety and convenience remain the top priority during the festive rush.
