JAMMU: Rahul Sahai, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Jammu & Kashmir, today called on Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, during the Minister’s visit to Jammu.
In a warm gesture of respect and goodwill, Sahai presented the Minister with an idol of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji and extended a cordial invitation for Devi Darshan at the holy shrine.
During the meeting, Sahai apprised the Minister of the evolving industrial landscape of Jammu & Kashmir and the positive transformation witnessed since 2020 under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
He noted that the newly formed government under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is further carrying these reforms forward, ensuring continuity in growth-driven governance and enhanced support to the industrial sector.
Sahai highlighted several key priorities and challenges of the business community, including:
- Strengthening industrial security and safety
- Improving interstate logistics and supply chain movement
- Addressing infrastructure and land allotment gaps
- Enhancing warehousing and cold-chain networks
- Boosting MSME competitiveness
- Streamlining coordination between trade bodies and Government departments
He emphasized the need for sustained cooperation and support from the Union Government to accelerate industrial expansion, enhance ease of doing business, and foster a stable, investor-friendly ecosystem in J&K.
The Minister appreciated the perspectives shared by Sahai and assured continued support from the Ministry towards strengthening the trade and industrial ecosystem in the region.
