JAMMU: Considering heavy passenger demand and travel convenience, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has decided to extend the operation of special reserved train services 04081/04082 between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to cater to the festive and upcoming travel season.
Train No. 04081 (New Delhi – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra), which was earlier scheduled to operate from December 27 to December 31, 2025, will now continue its services up to January 4, 2026, completing four trips during the extended period.
Similarly, Train No. 04082 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – New Delhi), earlier scheduled from December 28, 2025 to January 1, 2026, has been extended up to January 5, 2026, also operating four trips.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, Uchit Singhal, said the decision was taken in view of the additional rush during the New Year period.
“This decision has been taken keeping in mind the extra passenger rush during the New Year. The special train has recorded almost 100 per cent occupancy during its previous runs. Its convenient timings have made it an important and comfortable travel option for passengers,” he said.
The extension is expected to provide significant relief to passengers travelling to and from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine during the peak holiday season.
