SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Thursday issued a fresh weather advisory stating that no major rain or snowfall is forecast over Jammu and Kashmir till February 24.
An official from the Meteorological Department said that the weather on February 13 is likely to remain generally cloudy, with a possibility of light snowfall at isolated higher reaches.
From February 14 to 16, the weather is expected to remain generally dry till the evening of February 16, though there is a possibility of light snowfall at isolated higher reaches towards February 16 evening.
On February 17, weather conditions are likely to turn cloudy, with light rain and snowfall at isolated places, the official said.
The weather is forecast to remain dry and cloudy from February 18 to 24, the advisory added.
The Meteorological Department has advised travellers and transporters to check the latest road and highway status from the concerned traffic authorities and follow official advisories before planning their journeys.
Residents living in snow-bound higher reaches have been advised not to venture into slopy and avalanche-prone areas in the interest of safety.
