KATHUA: The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Dispensary-cum-Branch Office (DCBO), Kathua, organised a Medical-cum-Awareness Camp at M/s Jupiter Aluminium Industries, Bhagthali, Kathua, focusing on healthcare services, disease prevention and awareness about benefits available under the ESIC Scheme.
The camp was conducted in the presence of State Medical Officer Dr Saurabh Sadhotra, along with medical and field staff of ESIC, DCBO Kathua. Around 50 workers underwent general health check-ups and medical consultations conducted by Dr Roopali Pandotra, In-Charge, DCBO Kathua, besides receiving basic investigations, health guidance and medicines as required. Three patients were diagnosed with diabetes during the camp.
An awareness session covered disease prevention, healthy lifestyle practices, personal hygiene and preventive healthcare. Workers were also sensitised about medical, cash and other social-security benefits available under the ESIC Scheme by Sumit Dhingra, Branch Manager, DCBO Kathua, along with Social Security Officers Tilak Raj and Rinku Thapa.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sadhotra stressed the importance of timely medical consultation, preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices among workers. He also encouraged them to make full use of healthcare and social-security facilities available under the ESIC Scheme.
The camp also provided an opportunity for workers to interact with ESIC officials and seek clarification regarding healthcare services and other benefits available to them and their families.
The initiative reflects ESIC’s focus on accessible healthcare, worker welfare and social security, with DCBO Kathua reiterating its commitment to conducting similar outreach and awareness programmes for insured persons and their families.
