RAMBAN: Member Legislative Assembly Ramban Arjun Singh Raju today flagged off two women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) along with 40 progressive farmers from district Ramban for a two-day in-state exposure visit to Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bhaderwah, under the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme.
Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Vinay Kumar Jandial; District Agriculture Officer Kuldeep Raj Bassan; District SMS Jyoti Parkash; ASCO Jamshed Hussain Dev; SDAO Ramban Ayaz Ahmed Reshi and other officers of the Agriculture Department were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the MLA said that the Agriculture Department is extending all possible support and benefits to the farming community. He said the exposure visit would provide the participating farmers an opportunity to learn about modern agricultural practices, innovative technologies and improved farming techniques, thereby contributing towards enhanced productivity and sustainable development of the agriculture sector in the district.
The MLA advised the farmers to make the best use of the exposure visit by actively participating in the training sessions, interacting with agricultural experts and gaining practical knowledge about modern farming techniques. He encouraged them to adopt suitable technologies and practices in their respective areas and share the knowledge gained during the visit with fellow farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Agriculture Officer informed that 40 farmers under the ATMA scheme have been sent on the exposure visit to KVK Bhaderwah. He said the objective of the programme is to provide farmers with hands-on training and exposure to new technical know-how and modern agricultural practices.
He added that such exposure programmes would help farmers gain practical knowledge, adopt improved techniques and enhance farm productivity in their respective areas.
The initiative is aimed at bridging the knowledge gap among farmers and facilitating the adoption of innovative and scientific approaches in agriculture.
