SRINAGAR: Minimum temperatures across Kashmir witnessed minor fluctuations, with several areas recording slight changes compared to the previous night, while the Jammu region largely remained stable, officials said.
In the Kashmir Valley, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 1.9°C, marginally lower than 2.0°C a day earlier. Qazigund experienced a dip, settling at 2.2°C compared to 0.8°C the previous night, while Pahalgam remained almost steady at 2.2°C against 2.4°C recorded earlier.
Kupwara registered a slight rise at 1.6°C, up from 1.2°C, whereas Kokernag saw a notable increase to 2.4°C from 0.8°C the previous night. Gulmarg, the ski resort, recorded a marginal fall in temperature, settling at 1.0°C compared to 1.4°C earlier.
Pulwama emerged as the coldest place in the Valley, having recorded minus 2.7°C the previous night, though data for Monday was unavailable. Awantipora recorded minus 0.8°C, down from minus 0.2°C, while Shopian dipped slightly to minus 0.1°C from 0.1°C.
In the Jammu region, temperatures remained mostly unchanged. Jammu city recorded a minimum of 11.4°C, the same as the previous day. Banihal saw a decline to 3.1°C from 5.5°C, while Batote recorded 8.3°C, slightly higher than 7.9°C. Katra remained steady at around 11°C.
In Ladakh, temperatures showed improvement, with Leh recording minus 1.8°C compared to minus 5.0°C the previous night, while Kargil improved to minus 1.2°C from minus 4.6°C.
Meteorological officials said night temperatures are likely to continue fluctuating marginally over the next few days, with no major weather system expected to affect the region.
