JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday unveiled the Wall and Table Calendars of Jammu & Kashmir Bank for the year 2026 at Lok Bhavan.
The Wall Calendar 2026 is themed “Rivers of J&K and Ladakh”, while the Table Calendar showcases “Historic Places” of the region, reflecting the rich natural heritage and human legacy of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated J&K Bank for choosing distinctive and meaningful themes, saying they would help raise public awareness about the preservation of ancient monuments, archaeological sites and cultural traditions for future generations. He stressed that society must come together to safeguard these invaluable treasures.
Emphasising environmental conservation, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the critical role of rivers in the J&K Union Territory as sources of fresh water, food security and biodiversity conservation. He called for collective community efforts to protect rivers and water bodies to build resilience against future climate impacts.
Managing Director and CEO of Jammu & Kashmir Bank Limited, Amitava Chatterjee, said the 2026 calendars pay tribute to the rivers that sustain life across the region and the historic sites that define its shared legacy.
The calendars also highlight key public welfare initiatives such as Mission YUVA and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, along with the Bank’s major products including Housing Loans, Car Loans, Personal Consumption Loans and Online Account Opening, underlining J&K Bank’s role as a development partner and facilitator of people’s aspirations.
Those present at the unveiling ceremony included Santosh D. Vaidya, Principal Secretary, Finance Department; Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor; Sudhir Gupta, Executive Director; and Sunit Kumar and Imtiyaz Ahmad, Chief General Managers of J&K Bank.
