JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday urged the people to harness collective power for societal transformation and craft a blueprint for a prosperous India that can illuminate the world’s path.
The Lieutenant Governor was addressing a commemorative event held on the occasion of the 508th Nirvan Diwas of Sant Kabir, organised by Shiromani Sant Kabir Bhavan at Chak Avtara Bishnah in Jammu.
Highlighting the enduring relevance of Sant Kabir’s teachings, the Lieutenant Governor said that the saint’s eternal wisdom continues to guide society towards a brighter path, strengthening unity while enabling both spiritual and material progress for the nation. He remarked that Sant Kabir’s legacy and philosophy are shining brightest today, awakening the inner soul of society.
“India’s greatest strength lies in its ability to master Tech and Tradition, Microchip and Mantra. Our ancient roots and digital branches, modern tools and the timeless values of our sages together form a perfect blueprint for success and prosperity in the 21st century,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He further observed that India is steadily stepping forward to guide the world towards peace and prosperity through its rich saintly traditions and enduring values. Emphasising the relevance of India’s timeless mantra Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world as one family—he said the principle holds unprecedented importance in the present global scenario.
“As global divisions deepen in economic and strategic spheres, India’s timeless wisdom offers a vision where unity, peace and joy become a universal way of life. In the face of civilizational threats, the world will look towards India for grounding,” he added.
Calling for collective responsibility, the Lieutenant Governor appealed to all sections of society to work together to eliminate economic disparities and social divisions, while embracing inclusion and constitutional values to achieve true harmony.
Responding to demands raised during the programme, he reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to resolving issues related to reservation in promotion and the declaration of a gazetted holiday on Sant Kabir Jayanti in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The event was attended by Rajeev Bhagat, Faqir Chand Bhagat, Vipen Kumar, senior officials, prominent citizens and people from all walks of life.
