LEH: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, today emphasised that sustained peace is the foundation of progress and reaffirmed the Union Territory Administration’s commitment to ensuring Ladakh’s growth, stability, and prosperity.
He was speaking while chairing a high-level security review meeting in Leh, which was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG Srinagar South P.K. Singh, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, CO 79 Sanjay Kumar, CO 25 Rajat Jain, and other senior officials.
Senior officers briefed the Lt Governor on the prevailing security and law & order situation in the Union Territory. The meeting was informed that the overall situation across Ladakh remains peaceful and normal, with public life and daily activities continuing smoothly.
The Lt Governor appreciated the people of Ladakh for their exemplary cooperation with the Administration and Security Forces and for maintaining peace and harmony during the recent relaxation period. He commended their discipline and sense of responsibility, which have played a pivotal role in restoring and sustaining normalcy in the region.
Expressing satisfaction over the peaceful atmosphere, the Lt Governor directed officials to maintain close inter-agency coordination to ensure continued peace and order. He also underlined the need for constant vigilance, proactive engagement, and community participation in safeguarding public safety and harmony.
Reiterating the Administration’s commitment to the safety, security, and welfare of all citizens, Gupta urged every section of society to continue supporting the government in maintaining stability and unity in Ladakh.
The Lt Governor further assured that remaining restrictions, imposed as a precautionary measure, will be reviewed shortly and lifted in a phased manner as the situation continues to remain stable. He added that the Administration is fully committed to restoring complete normalcy and easing public convenience at the earliest.
Concluding the meeting, the Lt Governor reaffirmed that transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance remains the cornerstone of the Administration’s approach. He said that the collective efforts of the Government and the people will continue to steer Ladakh towards lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
