MUMBAI: Jio Payment Solutions Limited (JPSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Jio Financial Services Limited, has launched cross-border payment solutions aimed at helping Indian enterprises, exporters and digital businesses accept international payments more seamlessly.
The launch follows authorisation from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for JPSL to operate as a Payment Aggregator for Cross-Border (PA-CB) transactions covering both exports and imports.
The new platform enables Indian exporters to receive payments from customers worldwide through multi-currency virtual accounts, international cards and local payment rails. According to JPSL, the solutions are designed to simplify global collections while reducing the complexities associated with multiple partners, currencies, paperwork and manual reconciliation.
JPSL said its cross-border payment solutions cover around 50 per cent of India’s total export footprint, allowing merchants exporting to markets such as the US, UK, Europe, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia to quote prices in local currencies and collect payments through preferred local payment options.
The company plans to introduce additional local payment methods across Latin America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East in the coming months.
The platform caters to businesses ranging from MSMEs and emerging exporters to larger digital enterprises. Integration options include hosted checkouts, payment links, recurring invoicing, embedded SDKs, secure payment screens and white-label APIs.
JPSL said its cross-border payment offering provides transparent pricing and T+2 settlement without a rolling reserve, enabling merchants to receive their full settlement amount every cycle and manage cash flows more efficiently. The platform also incorporates end-to-end encryption, localised data storage and transaction monitoring in accordance with applicable RBI guidelines.
The company said FIRA/eFIRA documentation can be generated within the same working day, while single-click audit artefacts are designed to simplify accounting and reconciliation. Merchants can also complete digital onboarding and track transactions and settlements through a real-time dashboard.
Commenting on the launch, Kashinath Hariharan, MD & CEO, Jio Payment Solutions Limited, said the company was focused on addressing friction, transparency, flexibility and certainty in international payment solutions as Indian businesses expand their global presence.
JPSL has partnered with Citi for Authorised Dealer Category-1 and export collection account services, leveraging Citi’s global clearing network, automated compliance capabilities and settlement infrastructure.
The launch expands JPSL’s existing payment aggregation business, which already covers online and physical Point-of-Sale transactions. With the addition of cross-border payments, the company now offers a broader payments suite spanning digital commerce, physical retail and international e-commerce for permitted current account transactions.
The company said the initiative is aimed at helping Indian enterprises participate more efficiently in global commerce by bringing international acceptance, compliance and payment operations onto a unified platform.
