JAMMU: Jammu Police have solved a vehicle theft case registered at Police Station R.S. Pura, arresting two accused persons and recovering the stolen vehicle from Sidhra, officials said.
The case relates to a complaint received on August 25, 2026, regarding the theft of a vehicle from Sunderpur, R.S. Pura. Following the complaint, FIR No. 157/2026 under Section 303(2) of the BNS was registered at Police Station R.S. Pura and investigation was initiated.
A police team from PS R.S. Pura, working with technical analysis, identified and arrested the accused as Mohd Amjad, son of Mohd Sadiq, a resident of Kolata, Nagrota, Jammu, and Bakar Hussain, son of Mohd Yousif, a resident of Tanda Goraj, Samba.
Based on the disclosures of the arrested accused, police recovered the stolen property, including a Mahindra Pickup bearing registration number JK11A-3540, from Sidhra, Jammu.
Police said the prompt action and sustained investigation led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle. Further investigation in the case is underway.
Jammu Police said it would continue efforts against crime and criminal elements and remain focused on safeguarding the lives and property of the public.
