JAMMU Rahul Sahai, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Jammu, on Thursday met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan and discussed a range of issues concerning trade, industry and economic development in the Union Territory.
During the meeting, Sahai apprised the Lieutenant Governor of the challenges and opportunities facing the trade and industrial sectors and submitted suggestions aimed at strengthening the business ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
A key issue discussed was the need for a pragmatic and industry-friendly policy for the renewal of lease deeds under the Housing and Urban Development Department. Sahai highlighted the concerns of stakeholders and urged that the renewal process be made transparent, time-bound and investment-friendly to improve the ease of doing business.
The Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured that the concerns would be examined sympathetically in the larger interest of the people and the economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sahai expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for his continued support to the business community and appreciated his proactive approach towards addressing issues of public and industrial importance.
