BANDIPORA: The picturesque valley of Gurez resonated today with patriotic slogans as a vibrant Tiranga Rally lit up this remote border region under the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026.
The rally was led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gurez, Mukhtar Ahmad, accompanied by Tehsildar Gurez, the Block Development Officer Gurez, and other officials. Starting from the Sports Ground of Goverment Degree College Gurez, the rally wound its way to the bustling Sumo Stand, with participants proudly hoisting the Tricolour aloft against the backdrop of Gurez’s iconic majestic peaks and the meandering Kishanganga River.
Marching with fervour, residents of this frontier valley, reaffirmed their bond with the nation, sending a powerful message of unity from the last villages before the Line of Control.
The event forms part of the district-wide Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, held in conjunction with commemorations marking 150 years of “Vande Mataram,” aimed at deepening patriotic spirit, encouraging public participation, and honouring the National Flag in every corner of the nation including its most remote border frontiers.
