BUDGAM: In compliance with the directions, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam Conducts cleanliness drive at Various Legal Aid Clinics of DLSA Budgam
The cleanliness was organized under the guidance of O.P. Bhat, Principal District and Sessions Judge (Chairman DLSA), Budgam and under the observance of Tabassum Qadir Parray, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Budgam.
The DLSA Budgam conducted a series of cleanliness drives and awareness campaigns across the Legal aid Clinics/Clubs, and at ADR Centre Budgam, as part of the nationwide “Swachhata Hi Seva” initiative. The drives were carried out by the PLVs of DLSA/TLSCs Budgam.
The initiative aimed at promoting hygiene, environmental sustainability and public health by encouraging community participation and a sense of collective responsibility towards maintaining clean and healthy surroundings.
The participants highlighted that proper collection and disposal of waste helps prevent pollution of soil, air and water bodies, besides reducing plastic waste and other hazardous contamination. They also stressed that removal of litter and stagnant water helps minimise breeding grounds for pests and disease-causing pathogens, thereby contributing towards prevention of infectious diseases.
The cleanliness campaign also sought to inculcate a sense of civic responsibility and encourage behavioural change among people so that cleanliness of public spaces becomes a shared responsibility rather than relying solely on municipal agencies.
The DLSA Budgam emphasised that such initiatives play an important role in creating awareness about cleanliness and environmental responsibility while contributing towards safer, healthier and more sustainable public spaces.
