JAMMU: Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, IPS, on Saturday visited the Crime Branch J&K at Jammu and reviewed its functioning.
He was received by Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch/Security J&K, Sujit Kumar, IPS, along with other senior officers of the Crime Branch.
During the visit, the DGP inspected all wings housed in the Crime Branch Complex and chaired a meeting attended by DIG Crime Branch J&K Abdul Qayoom, IPS; Joint Director Prosecution Laeeq Ahmed Dar; SSP Crime Branch EOW Jammu Mohd Fiesel Qureshi (JKPS); SSP Fingerprint Bureau J&K Mohd Yousif (JKPS); SSP CICE J&K Ramnish Gupta (JKPS); SSP ANTF J&K Mohd Anwal-ul-Haq (JKPS); SSP SO to IGP Crime J&K Mohd Shafi (JKPS); and SSP SCW Jammu Sanjay Parihar (JKPS).
DIG Crime Branch J&K Abdul Qayoom, IPS, along with SSP Crime Branch EOW Kashmir Abdul Waheed Shah (JKPS) and SSP Crime Branch SCW Kashmir Muzaffar Ahmed Shah (JKPS), also joined the meeting from Crime Headquarters Srinagar through video conferencing.
At the outset, IGP Crime Branch welcomed the DGP, following which a booklet titled “Cyber Shield” was released by the DGP J&K. A detailed PowerPoint presentation was made by all wings of the Crime Branch highlighting their functioning and achievements, including disposal of FIRs and complaints during the year 2025.
The DGP appreciated the overall performance of the Crime Branch and issued directions to further enhance the disposal of cases and complaints. He also rewarded officers for their outstanding performance during the year, including DySP Vishal Sharma, DySP Albeena Malik, DySP Bhagwan Dass, DySP Jagpal Sharma, Inspector Ashwani Kumar and Inspector Gurnam Choudhary.
