LUCKNOW: An IndiGo Airlines flight en route from Delhi to Bagdogra was diverted to Lucknow on Sunday after a bomb threat was discovered written on a tissue paper onboard, officials said.
The threat was allegedly found inside the toilet of flight 6E-6650 at around 8:46 am, following which the crew immediately alerted Air Traffic Control and activated standard security protocols.
The aircraft made a safe emergency landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at around 9:17 am. As a precautionary measure, all passengers were safely evacuated, and the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay.
Following the landing, CISF personnel and bomb disposal squads cordoned off the aircraft and conducted a detailed security sweep. Authorities also carried out comprehensive checks after the evacuation to rule out any potential threat.
Officials said the flight was carrying around 230 passengers, including 222 adults and eight infants, along with two pilots and five cabin crew members.
Further investigation is underway, officials added.
