JAMMU: Four students from MV International School were honoured by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (MoS) for the Ministry of Earth Sciences and Ministry of Science & Technology, during the Curtain Raiser ceremony of the 11th India International Science Festival 2025 (IISF-2025) held at the Central University of Jammu.
Dr. Singh congratulated the young innovators for their creative project “BioChar Sponge Pellets”, praising their scientific curiosity and problem-solving approach. The event was jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) Pune, the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), and the Himalayan High Altitude Atmospheric and Climate Research (H2A2CR) Centre of the Central University of Jammu.
The award-winning team comprised:
- Bhuvneshwar Singh (Class 11 – Medical)
- Mehak Attri (Class 11 – Medical)
- Shukhman Singh (Class 11 – Medical)
- Lavanya Gupta (Class 9)
The students developed their innovative idea under the guidance of Ms. Mrinalini Choudhary, PGT Biology.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of several distinguished personalities, including Dr. A. Suryachandra Rao, Director, IITM Pune; Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, MoES; Prof. Vinay Aneja, North Carolina State University, USA; Ayushi Sudan, Deputy Commissioner Samba; Dr. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, along with faculty members of the university.
