JAMMU: Delhi Public School Jammu celebrated Children’s Day with grandeur and pride as the school extended a special welcome to its illustrious alumna Kavya Bali, Batch 2023–24, who was recently crowned Miss Asia 2025 at the glittering grand finale held at the Gokulam Convention Center, Kochi.
Under the visionary leadership of Kunwrani Dr. Ritu Singh, PVC, DPS Jammu and Founder, DPS Jammu/Nagbani/Katra, the celebration turned remarkable with Kavya’s homecoming.
Kavya was accorded a red carpet reception, led by the school band and accompanied by cheering students and staff. The tiny “crowned fairies” of the Pre-Primary Wing lined the pathway in vibrant attire, showering flowers and presenting her with the “My DPS Queen” crown. The Principal and Vice Principal welcomed her with a potted plant symbolizing respect and growth.
The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tributes to India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, followed by a citation highlighting Kavya’s achievements.
The atmosphere sparkled with joy as teachers dedicated a melodious Children’s Day song. Talented student musicians presented a soulful guitar and singing performance, while Laxmi of senior wing recited an inspiring poem. A high-energy dance performance by Suresh Sir and the Little Rock Stars of Class I received thunderous applause from the audience.
A Star Alumna Bringing Glory Home
A proud DIPSITE, Kavya’s journey from Outreach Ambassador and Peer Educator at DPS Jammu to an international titleholder is a story of grit, humility, and grace. Before her continental victory, she won accolades as:
- Second Runner-Up – Miss Queen of India 2025
- Runner-Up – Miss Navi Mumbai
- Currently pursuing higher studies at Mithibai College, Mumbai, where she continues to pursue her passion for media, fashion, and performing arts
In her motivational address, Kavya encouraged students to believe in themselves and chase their dreams with discipline and kindness. Her engaging interaction during the Q&A session left students inspired and proud.
