JAMMU: Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Tejinder Singh chaired a meeting to review policing arrangements and preparedness in Jammu district, with emphasis on strengthening the security grid and ensuring effective policing at the ground level.
During the meeting, officers reviewed winter preparedness, with directions to ensure necessary arrangements and operational readiness to meet challenges during the winter season.
The IGP stressed the need for visible policing through regular foot patrols, effective area domination and increased police presence at vulnerable locations. Officers were also directed to intensify naka checking and maintain effective surveillance to prevent criminal and anti-social activities.
Emphasising timely justice, Singh directed officers to ensure the early completion of investigations and disposal of pending cases. He also called for effective preventive action against repeat and habitual offenders.
The IGP further stressed the importance of tenant verification, directing officers to ensure proper verification of tenants and other persons residing in rented premises.
The meeting concluded with directions to officers to remain vigilant, maintain close supervision of field arrangements and ensure responsive and people-oriented policing across Jammu district.
