KATHUA: As part of the series of activities being organised to celebrate 80th Independence Day, the NSS Unit of Government Degree College Ramkote, in collaboration with the Cultural Committee, organized an Intra-College National Anthem Singing Competition.
Students from BA Semesters I and III enthusiastically participated in the competition, rendering the National Anthem with remarkable discipline, confidence and devotion.
Kriti Sharma of BA Semester III secured the first position, while Tanu Devi of BA Semester III and Lalita Devi of BA Semester I bagged second and third positions, respectively. The winners were felicitated and commended for their enthusiastic involvement.
The winner of the competition would represent the college at the District Level Competition.
The event was held under the guidance of the college Principal Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul.
Earlier, the programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof Anu Sharma, NSS PO. She highlighted the importance of patriotism, national integration and the significance of the National Anthem in strengthening the spirit of unity and constitutional values.
Prof Pankaj Nandan, IQAC Convener and Prof Suresh Chander, Convener Cultural Committee acted as judges. The performances were judged on the basis of accuracy, synchronization, clarity of pronunciation, melody and overall presentation. Participants performed renditions of the National Anthem with patriotic fervor.
